Under the slogan "Create the happiest employees in Japan, this book is the management philosophy of Akio Shibata, former general manager of Hotel Associa Nagoya Terminal, the "warmest hotel in Japan," who revived the company and the hearts of its employees from a huge deficit.
Author’s Information
After graduating from Iwamura High School in Gifu Prefecture, he started working for Japan National Railways in April 1961, and at the age of 31 became a full-time officer of the Nagoya Regional Headquarters of the then Railway Workers Union. He became Secretary General of the JR Union in 1992. In 1994, he moved to the Nagoya Terminal Hotel as Deputy General Manager of the Sales Promotion Department. He then became General Manager of the General Affairs Department in 1998, Director and General Manager in 2000, Managing Director and General Manager in 2003, and Representative Director and Senior Managing Director and General Manager in 2005. During this period, he revitalized a hotel that had been in the red for four terms into a profitable hotel for seven consecutive terms. Currently, he is the founder of Associa Shiyukan, a general incorporated association. As chairman of the board of directors, he is currently working to create a society overflowing with bonds, kindness, and warmth through lectures, event planning, writing, and other activities.
