Abstract

The midnight express heads north in search of love.
But who is waiting at the final station…?

“No… this can’t be happening, right?”
One morning in Kobe, Kotoha arrives at work only to find that her company has gone bankrupt.
She calls her long-distance boyfriend, Kaito, who lives in Sapporo, to share her anxiety—
but his vague, evasive response only adds to her unease.
A shadow of his ex-girlfriend seems to linger in the background.

Confused and heartbroken, Kotoha impulsively boards a midnight express to go see him.
Along the way, she meets fellow passengers with secrets of their own—encounters that begin to change her heart.

A heartwarming story with a deeply moving ending.
