Abstract

A series of murders occur at a caravan crossing a vast desert, a race to uncover a mystery at a Spanish hill full of windmills … Saiki, a young reporter travelling around the world finds himself mixed up in many weird and mysterious cases. The debut story and first piece in the book, “Sabauku wo Hashiru Fune no Michi (The Path of a Ship Crossing the Desert)” won the Mysteries Magazine New Writer’s Award ,the start of a series of stories receiving rave reviews for its originality and beautiful description. Nominated for the Honya Taisho (Japan Bookseller’s Award) of 2011.

Winner of the Mysteries Magazine New Writer Award in 2008 with “Sabaku wo Hashiru Fune no Michi (The Path of a Ship Crossing the Desert)”, higly praised from the judges. “Scream or Pray” is Shizaki's debut title and was nominated for the Honya Taisho in 2011. Born 1983 in Kyoto, a graduate of Keio University.
