The “company” sits on a deck supported with a thick steel pillar surrounded by a muddy sea . This is the only world “the worker” knows while he works everyday creating weird organic creatures for his boss, a huge unshapely creature called “human”. A series of highly original and strange stories echoing known school and work life, set in an enigmatic far future. Chosen as the best Japanese SF of the 2010s, in “SF ga Yomitai” Magazine.

Winner of the Sogen SF Short Story Award with SISYPHEAN in 2011. The collection “Sisyphean and Other Stories” published in 2013 was chosen as #1 on the Best SF of 2013 list in “SF ga Yomitai! (We Want to Read SF)” Magazine, and again as the Best SF of the 2010s. Both "Sysphean and Other Stories" and his next book "Yadokari no Hoshi (The Hermitage)" won the Japan SF Award. Born 1970 in Osaka.
