Author’s Information

Kazue Furuuchi was born in Tokyo in 1966. After working for a film company, she became a Chinese translator. In 2011, she made her debut with “Giniro no Mermaid(The Silver Mermaid),” which won a special prize at the 5th Poplar Novel Award. In 2017, “Furadan” was selected as the assigned book for the 63rd National Youth Book Report Contest, and won the 6th JBBY Award (Literary Work Category).
She is also the author of the “Makan Malang” series, the “Kinematographica” series, “Kaze no Muko he Kakenukero (Run Beyond the Wind),” “Ao no Fanfare (Blue Fanfare),” “Kane wo Narasu Kodomo tachi (Children Who Ring the Bell),” “Otanjobi Chronicle (The Birthday Party Chronicle),” “Saiko no Afternoon Tea no Tsu kuri katta (How to Make the Best Afternoon Tea),” and among other books.
