Abstract

The debut work of Mami Nakano, the artist of the remarkable picture book "Neko to Kotori" (Cat and Bird).

One morning, a cat living in an old house on top of a high cliff finds something that looks like a multicolored sparkling stone. Mysteriously, the "stone" grows larger and larger. Up-and-coming miniature artist Mami Nakano depicts a fantasy of light and darkness full of imagination. What is going to happen next? Children and adults can immerse themselves in the story with the thrill and excitement of "What will happen next?

Author’s Information

Mami Nakano/Picture
She was born in 1984 in Kanagawa Prefecture. After working as a designer, she became an illustrator. She studied under Hiroshi Tateno in 2017. She studied miniature painting using watercolor and the way of drawing for expression. She debuted as a picture book author with "Midori-no-gake no Furui Ie" (Sekaibunka Sha). She is in charge of drawing "Shirokuro no ikimono" in volume 4 and "Saruno no kao" in volume 6 of the "Ikimono zukushi monozukushi" series (Fukuinkan Shoten).
Her picture book is "Neko to Kotori" (written by Hiroshi Tateno, Sekai Bunka Sha).
