Abstract

The legendary debut work of Mami Nakano's, the artist of the popular picture book “Neko to kotori(cat and bird).”

One morning, a cat who lives in an old hut on a high cliff finds something that looks like a colorful, shiny stone. Strangely enough, the ''stone'' keeps getting bigger... An imaginative fantasy of light and darkness drawn by up-and-coming miniaturist, Mami Nakano. Both children and adults can immerse themselves in the story while having fun wondering "What will happen next?"

She was born in 1984 in Kanagawa Prefecture. After working as a designer, she became an illustrator. She studied under Hiroshi Tateno in 2017. She studied miniature painting using watercolor and the way of drawing for expression. She debuted as a picture book author with "Midori-no-gake no Furui Ie" (Sekaibunka Sha). She is in charge of drawing "Shirokuro no ikimono" in volume 4 and "Saruno no kao" in volume 6 of the "Ikimono zukushi monozukushi" series (Fukuinkan Shoten).
Her picture book is "Neko to Kotori" (written by Hiroshi Tateno, Sekai Bunka Sha).
