Abstract

Steiner education aims to provide a creative learning environment where children can find joy in learning.
In this book, a pedagogist who actually attended a Steiner school in Switzerland explains the philosophy and practice of Steiner education in an easy-to-understand manner through manga.
The book is based on the story of an elementary school teacher, Sanae, who started her teaching career with the idea of providing education for each child individually, but becomes exhausted of balancing work and raising her child.
Then, through the introduction of her former teacher from university, Fujimoto, she attends an open day at a Steiner school and regains her desire for ideals. Sanae begins to learn about Steiner education in earnest, and as she seeks out and puts into practice what she can apply in her daily classes and raising her own child, the children's reactions gradually change.
