Abstract
Top stars of modern economics talk about cutting-edge “wonderland of knowledge”.
● “How you see the society will change” (Fuhito Kojima, Professor at University of Tokyo)
You hardly find a book to have interviewed all these gorgeous members in the world. I want this book to be read by people who say “economy? what is it?”, not only by those who are interested in the modern economics. I definitely believe the book will change the way you see the society.
● “Research and human dramas that changed the world” (Yosuke Yasuda, Professor at University of Osaka)
Top economists fully talk all about the research that changed the world and the human dramas of achieving accomplishments. Even if you don’t know the economics, you will be simply drawn to their attraction. This is truly “The World’s Best Economics Class”!
● First-class economists talk about economics, the world, society, and human!
Becker, Thaler, Ariely, Milgrom, Roth, List, Heckman, Banerjee, Acemoğl, Stiglitz, Rodrik, Rajan --- From Nobel Prize winning economists to its strong candidates. Nikkei Business’s economic reporter interviewed the world-class prominent economists and explains the content and background of the research. It vividly delivers the challenges of the modern economy and the front-line trends of the economics aiming to solve them.
On the various economic fields including human capital theory, behavioral economics, economics of organizations, market design, education, development economics, global economy, relationship between politics and economy, innovation, and globalization, the economists representing each field talk about frankly and freely how the economics address issues facing the modern society, what tips are available for solutions, motivation for research, its achievement, and its role in society as well as policy proposals.
With the frank and plain words by leading economists in our age, you can feel that exploring human behavior called economics has the power to change society beyond the age. The book fully introduces the background and characteristics of research by each economist, along with the interviews. This is an educational book that allows you to learn the power of economics and to feel closer to economics.
