Abstract

Semiconductor Revival! A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity has arrived.
The author who engaged in the joint research at Harvard University
presents the survival strategy of Japanese companies for the future.

The U.S.-China New Cold War (a battle between democracy and despotism), the direction of which became definitive at the "G7 Hiroshima Summit," is now inevitable and irreversible. Like "decarbonization," the "derisking" brought about by this Cold War has become a new management issue in domestic Japanese companies’ in terms of strategy formulation. In this book, the author who engaged in discussions and collaborative research with local policy elites until recently, as a visiting scholar at Harvard University's Center for International Studies, the heart of the US, explains for Japanese companies how to develop survival strategies for the future.

This is a must-have book for people engaged in the global business and people formulating corporate planning and business planning.

【Key points of the book】

● “True intention” of US and China leaders are in full view.

The book analyzes the decision-making mechanisms by Chinese and US government leaders, summarizes chronologically the measures taken by both leaders in the past, and explains what could happen in future with the references to the history. It shows the management guidelines to Japanese companies.

● You can tell at a glance whether it is a risky country to associate with or not.

This book visualizes in Diagrams Part the confronting structure of “democracy and autocracy” in the state of Cold War and explains the countries and regions that Japanese companies can include in their supply chain and the countries and regions where there are risks if included, along with the reasons.

● Its analysis sticks to reliable “primary source”.

The analysis in the book is conducted based on the “primary sources” that are directly communicated from the policy makers such as US White House, Senate and House of Representatives, Department of State, and Beijing Leadership. It compiled the messages from a unique perspective through interviews with US and Chinese officials in the author’s network to hear reference opinions, and his 25-year experience in trend watching.

● It provides blueprints for launching an organization in the company.

The book explains in detail the names of organizations that deliver information on sanctions and regulations in both US and China as well as “approaches” developed by those organizations. You can see which organization makes what kind of move with what kind of view and will be able to understand points to be noted when you launch an intelligence organization in your company.

● <Diagram>U.S.-China Cold War is contained at the back of the book.
