Author’s Information
Tsuyoshi Higuchi, also known as the "Rakugo performer of life", was born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1952. After graduating from the Faculty of Law at Niigata University in 1975, he joined Toray Industries, Inc. In 1996, while he was working on the forefront of new business development as the head of the planning management office, he was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer with a survival rate of only 5%. After leaving Toray Industries in 2004, he started his writing career and has been performing a "Life Rakugo Solo Performance", exclusively inviting cancer patients and their families, every year since 2001. His books include "Life's Rakugo" (Bungeishunju), "Have You Been Laughing Lately?" (Nikkei Publishing), "Overcoming Tsunami and Cancer with Laughter" (Tokyo Newspaper), and "Just Being Alive is a Gold Medal" (Shunyodo Publishing) among others.
