Abstract

Bonsai is gaining attention abroad as 'art with life'. Unlike ordinary gardening, bonsai (small pieces) have a unique world view and care methods, and each tree species has its own selection and cultivation methods. Bonsai is a profoundly deep subject, but this book provides detailed and careful explanations of bonsai work for 74 popular species, with process photos. By simply copying the workflow, even beginners can learn to create a 'value bonsai'.

Author’s Information

Born 1949, Yamato, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Graduated from Tokyo University of Agriculture, and in 1973 opened Yamato-en, a shop specialising in small bonsai, where he became the owner. Presides over bonsai events, enthusiast groups and classes. He also teaches at various exhibitions and has received numerous awards.
