Abstract
The power of the nation continues to decline, surveillance drones are flying around, and the sense of Japan's impending doom is only growing. Rito, a junior high school girl, her mother and younger brother, and the Iriya family, who are living tough in this society, meet a "Kazaana" descendant who has a mysterious power to communicate with nature, such as stones and insects. The Iriya family and Kazaana make everyone they come in contact with smile a little, starting with their eldest son, Saku, who is not attending school, his classmates who are acting strangely, and a city official who is struggling with his job responsibilities. Eventually, they come into contact with the mysterious guerrilla organization Nutria, and the turmoil eventually transcends national borders.
