Abstract
Sansuisya won the Good Design Award for its "Old Minka and Old Wood Circular Economy," which preserves Japanese architectural techniques and culture. This presentation will introduce the company's challenge to expand the possibilities of local business by collecting, stockpiling, and maintaining old wood from demolished old private homes, and encouraging reuse of the wood by not only selling it but also designing and constructing it.
How does the company create value from old houses and trees, revitalize local communities, and continue to grow as a company? Here are some hints for sustainable, recycling-oriented business.

Representative Director of Sansuisya Co. Born in 1977 in Nagano City. Father is Takeo Yamagami, Chairman of the company.
After graduating from Tokyo University of Science, Faculty of Science and Technology in 2000, he joined Softbank. He was in charge of network equipment sales and received the President's Award.
In 2004, he joined the family construction company, Sansuisya. In order to break away from subcontracting, he pioneered the genre of store construction using old wood.
In 2012, he became the company's representative director. With old trees as a hook, he is developing his business from space creation to the creation of systems that create human connections.
