Author’s Information
Born in Fukuoka Prefecture in 1952.
Joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1975.
He is mainly in charge of treaties, security, cultural exchange, and economics.After working at the French, Australian, Belgian and British Embassies of Japan and the Permanent Mission of Japan to the European Union (EU), he served as Ambassador to Iraq/Qatar/UNESCO/Canada before retiring in 2017.
He promoted the use of sake in diplomacy and was appointed a "Sake Samurai" by the Japan Sake Brewers Youth Council.
