Abstract

Collection of kogin stitch patterns.
Focuses on traditional patterns, but also introduces a wide variety of arranged patterns. Stitch them individually as a point of interest, change the arrangement and stitch them in sequence, or make them reversible. By simply changing the combination of fabric and thread, a single pattern can be enjoyed in any number of ways.
This book is divided into a basic section and an application section. The basic section explains the origins of kogin stitch and the rules of basic (traditional) patterns in an easy-to-understand manner. By understanding the basic rules, it becomes easier to arrange the patterns, such as how to combine patterns and how to make a series of patterns. Of course, materials and sewing techniques are also explained in detail with photographs.
In the application section, various patterns by three artists are introduced. Even those who have enjoyed kogin up to now will be able to feel the expansion of the designs. A few works such as coasters and brooches with added tailoring are also introduced.
