Author’s Information

Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1973, she won the Shosetsu Suishin Shinjin Sho (New Writer's Award for Novelists) in 2007 for "Seisyokusha (Clergyman). The following year, "Confessions," which includes the same story, was named No. 1 in the domestic category in the Weekly Bunshun Mystery Top 10, and won the Honya Taisho Award in 2009. 2012 "Boukyou, Umi no Hoshi" won the Japan Mystery Writers Association Award in the short story category, 2016 "Utopia" won the Shugoro Yamamoto Award. 2018 "Atonement" was nominated for the Edgar Award In 2018, "Atonement" was nominated for the Edgar Award. Her other books include "Shoujo," "For N," "Night Ferris Wheel," "Motherhood," "High School Entrance Exam," "Sleeping on Beans," "Diary of a Mountain Woman," "Zesshou," "Rebirth," "Poison Daughter, Holy Mother," "Future," "Broadcast," and the essay collection "Wildcat Coffee".
