Set in a parallel world U-Country, a U.S.-like country in 1983. The Jellyfish, a small airship developed with special technology, has changed the history of aviation. The inventor of the Jellyfish, Professor Pfeiffer, and six other members of the technical development team were conducting final confirmation tests of the new Jellyfish's long-range cruising performance. During the test, however, one of the members of the team dies unexpectedly. In addition, the test plane crash-lands on a snow-covered mountain. With no way to escape, the victims are killed one after another. ......

Born Kanagawa Pref in 1976, a graduate of Tokyo University, Ichikawa debuted with THE JELLYFISH NEVER FREEZES which won the 26th Ayukawa Tetsuya Award for new mystery writers. The book was highly regarded and was ranked in several mystery lists of the year, the series starring detectives Maria & Ren has now grown to include five titles.
