Sakura is a 63-year-old trans woman. She runs a bar, also called Sakura, that caters to transgender and other clientele in Osaka. She employs 23-year-old Saki, also a transgender woman, as a server. Author’s Information
Born in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan in 1956. After working as a decontamination worker, he made his debut with “Mokuzu Gani (A Mitten Crab, 2018)," which he wrote while sleeping in a manga café and writing while he had no fixed address. When he won the first Haruhiko Oyabu Newcomer Award with that book, he was 62 years. Wrote "Saba (Mackerel, 2018)" as his first full-length work. Since then, he has produced numerous high-profile works, including "Bodako," based on his own experiences, "Junko," "Ranchiu," and the essay "Lower Class A." He won the Grand Prize of the 22nd Haruhiko Oyabu Award for "Inu (Dog, 2020).
