Author’s Information
Historian. His main research interests are the history of the Mongol period and the history of Central Eurasia. Born in Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture in 1952, he graduated from Numazu Higashi High School in Shizuoka Prefecture and then from the Faculty of Letters of Kyoto University in 1974. After graduating from Numazu Higashi High School in Numazu, Shizuoka Prefecture, he graduated from the Faculty of Letters of Kyoto University in 1974, and withdrew from the Graduate School of Letters of Kyoto University in 1979 with a doctoral degree. After working as an assistant at the Institute for Research in Humanities, Kyoto University, and as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Letters, Kyoto Women's University, he became a professor at the Graduate School of Letters, Kyoto University, retiring in 2017. He is Professor Emeritus of Kyoto University.
