Abstract

The “Montessori Life Picture Books” series is popular among Montessori
educators and parents for its realistic illustrations and faithful depiction of
the concepts of Montessori education.
This second book in the series focuses on tidying up, an issue that many
parents struggle with. In Montessori education, the rule of tidying up
after each activity before moving on to the next is strongly
recommended. This not only keeps the house tidy and pleasant and
makes things easier for adults, it also benefits the child’s development.
For example, staying organized lets children work on things as soon as
they want to do it, which makes it easier for them to experience “I did it!”
moments.
This picture book is designed to attract children’s interest with rhythmical,
vivid depictions of a girl tidying up. At the end of the book, the
importance of tidying up in Montessori is explained for parents. Parents
and children alike will enjoy embracing the challenge of tidying up
Montessori-style.
