Abstract

Earth is a beautiful watery planet that stores abundant water and oxygen. The prosperity of human beings, who have reached the pinnacle of evolution, will never change. We tend to think so, but the latest research has revealed that the Earth is a planet that has undergone repeated upheavals since its birth. The "wild planet Earth" was an extremely harsh environment for living things to survive. In the "primitive Earth era," when everything on the surface turned into scorching hot lava land due to the impact of a super-giant meteorite, there were two "global freezes" when everything on Earth froze, the "super plume" that appeared every time a supercontinent appeared, and several mass extinctions in which 95% of living things died due to global warming... Completed doctoral course at the Department of Geophysics, Graduate School of Science, The University of Tokyo. Specializes in Earth and Planetary Systems Science, Comparative Planetary Environmental Studies, and Astrobiology. Conducts a wide range of research on the evolution, change, and stability of the surface environments of the Earth and planets. Director and former president of the Japan Geoscience Union. His publications include "Frozen Earth: The Story of Snowball Earth and the Evolution of Life" (Shinchosha).
