Abstract

It's been about 60 years since Japanese started to live in reinforced-concrete housing complex called “mansion”. “Mansion” is now a major resident status in urban areas. However, everything is vanity. In new towns in suburban areas, aging mansions present a serious problem along with the aging of residents.
From “before-all theory” that nobody has noticed, such as why Japanese started to live in mansions before all, potential risks of the condition of rights called sectional ownership of condominium apartments, how living on a higher floor affects health, to tricks of the industry's profits and future mansion scenery, a housing journalist who has been in this line of work for 30 years explores how “mansions” that lead residents to happiness should be.
