Born in 1965, from Kagawa Prefecture. Professor, Graduate School of Business Science, University of Tsukuba. Graduated from the Department of Basic Science, Faculty of Liberal Arts, University of Tokyo in 1987. 1989: Master of Science and Chemistry, Graduate School of Science, University of Tokyo. Obtained MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1995. After working for Bain & Company, Dell, Starbucks, Roland Berger, etc., he assumed his current position. Doctorate (academic). He also serves as a visiting professor at Waseda University Business School, an outside director at Mitsui-Soko Holdings Co., Ltd., and an outside director at Kito Co., Ltd. His publications include ”Strategy Theory for Career Advancement'' (Nikkei Bunko), ”Essential Thinking: MIT-style Task Setting & Problem Solving'', and ”The Habit of Thinking with Diagrams as a Weapon: Lessons on Abstract Thinking'', both published by Toyo Keizai Shin.
