Abstract

Rolf, a child prodigy who excels in both wisdom and courage, was not given the magical power that everyone should receive from God at the age of fifteen. His blessed life takes a turn for the worse, he is disinherited from the baron's family, and even his engagement to his childhood friend Emily is called off, and his days of hell begin as he is reviled as "covered in soot" by the Knights.
