Abstract
Ippen, the founder of the Jishu sect and one of the notable monks of Kamakura Buddhism, is also known as "Sutesan" and "Yugyoshonin". By deepening his faith in the Other Power Nembutsu through pilgrimages to sacred places such as Zenkoji Temple, Koyasan, and Kumano, and carrying Nembutsu talismans on his journey around the country, he garnered faith from around 2.5 million people, ranging from farmers and fishermen to the warrior class. His unique and energetic faith stance, including "dancing Nembutsu", is truly intriguing. While his life has been discussed in literature, there are few books about him for the general public, which make this contribution a valuable piece.
