Abstract

Daigo Agawa is an expatriate posted to the mountain village of Kuge. The villagers warmly accept him and his family, but when an old woman is found dead, Daigo gradually becomes aware of the abnormality of the village and is seized by certain suspicions. "The people in this village are eating people."
The incidents that occur one after another, the air of exclusion that fills the village, and the breathless tension that keeps him on the edge of his seat, make for an astonishing and horrifying suspense!
