Takeshi Ito
Takeshi Ito, born in Ishikawa Prefecture in 1957, is a writer, illustrator, yoga and Sanskrit language instructor, and the representative of YAJ. In 1979, he embarked on his first solo trip to India. He roamed all over India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand for about two years. Since then, he has repeatedly visited these regions to collect information on ruins, myths, customs, martial arts, food culture, and more. As an independent researcher of India, he has deep knowledge of the history and culture of the surrounding regions. His publications include "Secret Marma Acupressure Yoga," "Body-friendly India," "Adventures of Spices" (all by Kodansha), "Illustrated Dictionary of Indian Mysteries" (Kodansha, revised edition by Shunposha), "Unveiling Indian Martial Arts," "Charaka's Table: Indian Cuisine of Two Thousand Years Ago" (co-authored with Kaoru Katori, all by Shunposha), "Introductory Yoga Mandala with Illustrations" (co-authored with Toyomichi Tahara, Ikeda Shoten), etc.
