Abstract

Kanako was born as a CODA (Children of Deaf Adult/s) to parents with hearing disabilities.
Despite feeling hurt by insensitive discrimination and the frustration of not being able to converse with her parents verbally, she grows up wrapped in their deep love.
Eventually, she becomes an active 'sign language-capable nurse'.
This is one of the 'Inspirational Non-fiction' series suitable for reading from the upper grades of elementary school.
