Born in 1960, in Otaru, Hokkaido. In 2003, she won the 37th Hokkaido Shimbun Literary Award for "Komadori-san no Koto''. In 2004, she won the 72nd Contemporary Novel Newcomer Award for "Kimo, Yakeru''. In 2009, he won the 30th Eiji Yoshikawa Prize for New Writers for "Tamura wa Madaka".
