Izumi Tateno
Born in Tokyo in 1936, Izumi Tateno is a renowned pianist. After graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts in 1960, she relocated to Finland in 1964. Her performances, characterized by delicate lyricism and grand scale, were highly acclaimed. However, in 2002, she suffered a stroke on stage, resulting in right-side paralysis. After over two years of rehabilitation, she resumed her professional career in 2004, playing with her left hand alone. She has written several books, including "Relay Talk: The Power of Words, The Power of Humans" (published by Kosei Publishing).
