Abstract

"I at least want to depart healed when I die." The author has faced the cries of terminal cancer patients. They explore how to "live and die as oneself" through interactions with patients.

Born in Osaka in Showa 31. Transitioned from a pharmacist to a chaplain. As a chaplain, she has the longest career in Japan. She works at the palliative care ward of Kobe Rokko Hospital. She is also a part-time lecturer at Kyoto Notre Dame Women's University. Her books include "Living Together: The Story of a Hospice Chaplain" and "To Die Satisfied: Cries of 'Old Age' Seen by a Hospice Chaplain".
