Abstract

Over 130,000 copies sold! The author of the wildly popular "explanatory book" and former Sundai Preparatory School instructor, Japan's most charismatic prep school teacher, teaches the "ultimate explanation skills." He has taught speaking to over 20,000 business people and analyzed the explanations of over 1,000 people to reveal his 11 "patterns." It also includes a wealth of "instant phrases" that you can use right away in practical situations! No matter how hard you try to communicate, your listeners are distracted. The room falls silent when you speak. You explain carefully, but they respond with, "So, what are you trying to say?" You just don't have anything to talk about... All of these problems are solved in one go! This book reveals 11 practical patterns discovered through the analysis of the explanations of over 1,000 people. By simply observing your audience and applying the optimal "pattern," you can give a "good explanation" that will get them leaning in. This book is sure to be useful in any situation where you need to "explain" something to someone: self-introductions, presentations, meetings, conferences, work instructions, sales pitches, customer service, product introductions, speeches, in-house study sessions, seminars and training, reporting, communication, and social media. For example... ◎Contrast type: "There's a really good book" → "It's a masterpiece that comes in one in 1,000 books." ◎Rarity type: "It's a rare story" → "It's something that only 0.3% of Japanese people know about." ◎Decision-guiding type: "There are three. Which one would you like?" → "The last one is my top pick." In today's world, everyone's values, "common sense," and knowledge levels vary. Use this proven book to improve your explanation skills and expand your horizons.
