(Author) Born in 1896 in Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture. Graduated from Morioka High School of Agriculture and Forestry School, Department of Agricultural Chemistry. He began writing tanka when he was a teenager, and left behind many works of poetry and children's stories. Before his death, he published a collection of poems, ``Spring and Shura,'' and a collection of children's stories, ``Restaurant with Many Orders.'' He also established the Rasu Jijin Association and worked to improve the lives of farmers, but died in 1933 at the age of 37 due to acute pneumonia. /(Picture) Illustrator/graphic designer. Lives in Osaka Prefecture. Mainly works on graphic design and book illustrations. His illustrations include ``Kenji Miyazawa's collection of fairy tales: A restaurant with many orders, Gauche the cellophane, etc.,'' ``Kenji Miyazawa's collection of fairy tales: The cat's office, Night on the Galaxy Railway, etc.'' (author: Kenji Miyazawa, Sekai Bunkasha), ``I can't measure.''
