Pediatric psychiatrist, Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Center for Pediatric Depression at Massachusetts General Hospital. Graduated from Hokkaido University School of Medicine. Completed training in psychiatry at Yale University and in child psychiatry at Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital. While attending medical school in Japan, she passed the U.S. National Medical Examination and was accepted as a resident, making her the youngest Japanese medical school graduate ever to become a clinician in the United States.
