Abstract
Ghost stories are always near you. A collection of ghost stories and strange tales from the Edo period to the present, written by the author of "Gothic Heart" and "The Disgruntled Princess and the Bruckner Group." Ghost stories aren't just for school nights or graveyards. They lurk at dinner time, on walks, and in all the spaces we inhabit, in casual moments like that. The feeling that there is "something" invisible nearby. Strange folklore handed down in the land. Stones with various legends. Fireballs that appear everywhere. Tengu who love beautiful boys. Even an examination of different types of Rokurokubi. A new classic in ghost story essays, with ghost stories from all over the world, past and present, compiled from Takahara Eri's unique perspective.
