Abstract

The year is 2038, and sea levels are rising due to rapid global warming, submerging coastal cities. In a world where environmental protection is considered the ultimate justice and where even the use of force is tolerated to protect nature, one day a container ship is hijacked. If demands are not met, a bomb will explode, and the leaking fuel could cause serious environmental pollution. Special forces are deployed to prevent this, and the incident appears to have been quickly resolved. However, hidden within is a huge conspiracy that threatens humanity!

Born in Tokyo in 1973. Graduated from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Chiba University. In 2018, he made his debut with "The Inaccessible Pole," which won the 64th Edogawa Rampo Prize. Recent works include "The Eyes of the Khmer," "The River of Lethe," and "One Hundred Billion Ifs."
