A kindhearted young man who loves insects solves a mystery by staying considerate of the feelings of persons who are involved in a mysterious event.

The truth unraveled by a kindhearted insect lover young man, Sen Erisawa, of a mysterious event he encounters in his journey all over the country, was always full of sad yet precious feelings of people…Was it a ghost of the missing girl? A disaster volunteer young man witnessed it sixteen years ago. This book contains five stories including ‘Semi Kaeru (Return as a Cicada),’ in which Erisawa tells the unexpected truth about the ghost. The other story is ‘Komachigumo (Mother-eating Spider),’ which was nominated as a candidate for the 73rd Mystery Writers of Japan Award, in which Erisawa solves the hidden connection between a traffic accident at an intersection and an injury accident that occurred in a housing complex. Written by the young and talented author in the spotlight who had won Mysteries! New Writer Award, this is the second book containing five stories in the mystery series which won both the 74th Mystery Writers of Japan Award and the 21st Honkaku Mystery Award.

Author’s Information

Born 1977 in Hokkaido. Winner of the 10th Mysteries! Award for New Writers in 2013 with short story “Search light and Insect light”, and debuted with a short story collection of the same title. Winner of the 74th Mystery Writer of Japan Award with “Cicadas Return”
