Author’s Information

The percentage of children with vision less than 1.0 has reached a record high. The shocking news was reported in Japan in the fall of 2023.

According to a survey conducted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the percentage of children with less than 1.0 naked eye vision was about 38% for elementary school students, 61% for junior high school students, and 71% for high school students.

In fact, the WHO has sounded the alarm by predicting that about half of the world's population will be nearsighted by 2050. Now there is a growing awareness around the world that myopia is a "disease" that needs to be treated.

If you think you do not need to worry about myopia because you can just wear glasses, think again. Myopia has been shown to increase the risk of developing diseases that can lead to blindness in the future. On the other hand, it has become clear that myopia can be prevented by simply looking at the distance outside for a few hours each day.

While there are many eye drops and eye supplements sold in Japan, there are also dubious stories circulating about "methods to restore eyesight. Now more than ever, there is a need to educate people about their eyes.
In this book, the author, an ophthalmologist and researcher, provides "useful" and "world standard" information about the eyes.
