Compared to infantry, the most basic land force, and tanks, the star of land weapons, cannons and the artillery, the branch of the military that operates them, are less familiar. This book provides an overview of various types of cannon, explains modern artillery tactics, and conveys the appeal of cannons and artillery, also known as the "kings of the battlefield" and the "goddesses of the battlefield."
