Abstract

Mebu the sloth, fails at everything he does. However, wanting to help others, he saves a small drowning chick and falls into the river himself.
When Auggie the eagle asks him to take care of the chick, Meb becomes happy and comes up with various strategies.
He tries to eat a lot to get stronger, to move faster, to fly...

Author’s Information

Graduated from the Department of Design at Tokyo Polytechnic University. He learned in his university research that characters are not just created but also nurtured, and Mebu was born through his graduation project.
Influenced by the painter Georges Seurat, he incorporated pointillism techniques. He loves animals and, even though he acts enthusiastically, ends up spinning his wheels, just like Mebu. This work is a sequel to "Mebu the Sloth," which won the Excellence Award at the 4th Picture Book Publishing Awards.
