Toshihiro Ihori
Born in Okayama Prefecture in 1952. Professor Emeritus at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies and the University of Tokyo. Specializes in public finance, public economics, and economic policy.
He graduated from the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics, University of Tokyo, and completed his doctoral program at Johns Hopkins University (Ph.D.). After serving as an associate professor at the Faculty of Economics, Tokyo Metropolitan University, an associate professor at the Faculty of Economics, Osaka University, an associate professor at the Faculty of Economics, University of Tokyo, a professor at the University of Tokyo, and a professor at the Graduate School of Economics at the University of Tokyo, he became a professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo in 2015. He became a professor at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies in April of the same year, a special professor at the same institution in April 2017, and will assume his current position in April 2022.
His many books include "Learn 4 Years of University Economics in 10 Hours" (KADOKAWA), "Political Economics as a Liberal Arts Course that Explains the Relationship between Politics and Economics in 3 Hours" (Sogo Horei Publishing), and "Introduction to Economics" (Shinseisha).
