Abstract

Author’s Information

Shiozawa Gyokusei: Chairman and judging committee chairman of the Japan Suibokuga Association, chairman of the Seizankai Association, and chairman of the Japan Suibokuga Academy. He studied under Maeda Seison and Yamada Gyokuun. As an ink painting artist, he has received numerous awards, including the Minister of Education Award in 1992 and the Tokyo Governor's Award in 1993. He is a leading figure in the Japanese ink painting world. He teaches ink painting at Asahi Culture Center and other places, and has many students. He has also appeared on television, including the NHK Shumi Yuyuyu "My First Ink Painting." His recent publications include "Learn the Basics: Ink Painting from the Beginner's Level" (Nittosho Publishing).
