Abstract

New Year’s Eve was approaching. Kouta, announced that he would stay up all night to greet the coming New Year. Many things needed to be done on this day. The family pitched in to clean out the house and festive dishes were cooked. The story unfolds under a fixed-point observation from above the KOTATSU of Kouta’s home. A KOTATSU is a heating device with a low, wooden table frame covered with a heavy blanket, upon which a table top sits. It is the center point of a home during winter. Let’s view a New Year’s Eve from Kouta’s home. Will he manage to stay up and hear the New Year’s Eve Bell?
