Abstract

When you reach your 70s and 80s, old age will come along. It will be difficult to stay healthy both physically and mentally. Not only will you worry about your physical health, such as diseases of the internal organs and weakening of the legs and hips, but you will also worry about the health of your brain and mind, such as dementia and geriatric depression. For Japanese people, who live a long life, it is impossible to escape physical problems in old age. At the same time, you cannot escape dementia, which causes your brain to become unhealthy. You cannot escape aging, but it is possible to "delay" it. This book is a guide to taking a positive approach to aging. It explains both the brain and mind and the body, but it devotes pages in particular to positive ways of thinking about and living with dementia. Dementia will inevitably come to you if you live a long life. It is important to think about what to do when it happens, and being prepared will give you peace of mind. Of course, it also carefully introduces ways to prevent physical aging and how to live to avoid dementia. This book is full of tips for living a healthy and happy life in your 80s and 90s.
