He was the first in the world to present at the American Gastroenterological Association that the transcription factor CDX2 gene, which plays an important role in the development of gastrointestinal cancer, is expressed in Helicobacter pylori-infected gastritis, and this was published as the lead article in an English journal. Every day, he examines patients with stomach problems from Japan and abroad who come to his hospital seeking the latest treatment methods, using gastrointestinal and colonoscopic examinations, and finds it rewarding to help them improve their condition.
He has appeared on numerous television, radio and magazine shows, including "The World's Most Wanted Lesson" (Nippon Television).
