Abstract
No matter how healthy we live, death comes to everyone. It is no exaggeration to say that human beings continue to think about death from various angles, including philosophy, religion, science, history, and art. In this book, the "intellectual giant" Masaru Sato talks about the concept of "death" that is common to all human beings, picking out the words of great people from history and discussing their views on life and death.

Masaru Sato
Born in Tokyo in 1960. Author and former senior analyst at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
After graduating from the Graduate School of Theology at Doshisha University in 1985, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He worked at the Embassy of Japan in the UK and the Embassy of Japan in the Russian Federation. He then worked at the forefront of diplomacy with Russia as a chief analyst in the First Analysis Division of the International Intelligence Bureau of the Ministry. In 2002, he was arrested and indicted on charges of embezzlement and obstruction of business by fraudulent means, and in June 2009, he was found guilty and given a suspended sentence. In June 2013, the suspended sentence expired and the sentence became void. He won the 59th Mainichi Publishing Culture Award Special Prize for "The Trap of the Nation: Called Rasputin of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs" (Shinchosha). He won the Shincho Document Award and the Oya Soichi Non-Fiction Award for "The Self-Destructing Empire" (Shinchosha). He has written many books, including "Reading Techniques" (Toyo Keizai Shinposha), "Study Methods: General Education Course "What is Information Analysis?"" (KADOKAWA), and "The True Nature of the Crisis: Techniques for Surviving the Coronavirus Era" (Asahi Shimbun Publications).
