Masami Iwato, a forecaster who analyzes the direction of movement and attack methods of monsters, encounters a strange incident during his duties. A dead body is found under rubble in a town where the order to stop a wind power plant was not received. A gunshot rings out in the silence of a sound-controlled town. An investigator disappears from a lake where monsters are rumored to live - and a middle-aged man in a flowing, worn coat always appears in cases involving monsters. Masami knew about the man who called himself Funamura from the National Police Agency's Special Investigations Division through rumors. He is a "special investigator" who handles special cases related to monsters. Masami becomes embroiled in the investigation of strange cases involving monsters...
