Abstract

It introduces about 270 towns that retain traditional houses, such as castle towns, post towns, merchant towns, temple towns, and industrial towns, using old maps.
In addition, more than 800 spots including shops and restaurants are detailed.
The special feature at the beginning of the volume introduces the once-prosperous social places such as Kyoto, Kanazawa, and Obama.
