Abstract

Animals preparing for winter to survive - "Everyone is amazing after all!" When Pokota, a gluttonous raccoon, finds out that squirrels and mice are storing nuts for winter, he tries to do the same, but fails. When Pokota feels down, his friends kindly encourage him... This is a beautiful, detailed illustration by Yumi Shimokawa of a raccoon dog's ecology-based story of preparing for winter. "Everyone has their own strengths." , and it is a heartwarming story filled with kindness and mutual recognition of individuality. Some people are big, some are fast, some have beautiful voices, some have good memories, some are quick-witted, some can take their time with things... everyone is different. If you compare people in just one thing, you might end up with "people who can do it and people who can't," but if you compare people in many different ways, you will see that there are countless values in each.
