The first is the ability to "train logical and thorough thinking" while "having fun as a play activity." In solving each Challenge Problem completely, there is an opportunity to master two pillars of logical development: "necessary conditions" and "case analysis."
The second is "developing a love for logical thinking." More than just understanding or being able to solve problems, "making it something you like" is perhaps the single most important theme for lower elementary school students.
Why do children come to like it? It's because they are richly provided with two experiences: "the experience of thinking things through completely without time limits" and "the cathartic experience and sense of achievement that comes from finally reaching a solution." We encourage parents to work on these problems together with their children while having fun.
